The arguing doesn't matter anymore. Fact is the pensions and health care benefits are severely underfunded in almost every State and municipality. The ONLY way that the States can meet these obligations is to raise taxes, and not just a little bit.

And the public sector unions could have fed 80,000 kids a balanced diet for a year on what they spent to lose. I won't continue. Goes around comes around.

The United States has the highest OBESITY rate in the World. Yup, the world. 30.8% of our population vs. 14% in Canada. This is the number one reason for our health care crisis.

The outcome will be the same whether they get the bailout or not. Chrysler and GM are bleeding BILLIONS each month and 15 billion will get them to March maybe. Nobody is buying cars, people are losing their jobs and homes.

The Big Three and the UAW blew it. They should have come to Congress with a plan that included across the board wage cuts, say 10% for ALL employees, to show some sincerity.

Big Three have to get competitive. Chapter 11 allows that to happen. Renegotiate labor contracts.

If they need taxpayer money then union and management are limited to $20/hr (fair) until the money is paid back.
